BurnTheory is a boutique fitness studio in Hobart CBD which delivers addictive, energetic, fun and challenging workouts, backed by a kick-ass sound track, amazing qualified instructors and an inspiring space.
We deliver specifically choreographed barre classes with our own structure that are designed to be 45 minute efficient, intense, fat-burning and muscle sculpting classes. The class consists of effective sets of toning and resistance ‘isometric’ exercises utilising bodyweight, light weights, therabands, small balls and the ballet barre to tighten, strengthen and tone the whole body.
We also offer our own signature high intensity interval training working (like an indoor boot-camp without the injuries) to increase cardiovascular fitness, increase lean muscle mass and reduce fat. We also offer our very own yoga inspired flow class set to RnB classics, to lengthen, strengthen, mobilise and zen you out.
No matter what your fitness level is, our classes accommodate every fitness level in a non-intimidating space and instructors and clients that will soon become your good friends!
What will you be demonstrating in your 30 minute Cross Fit Arena Demonstration?
We will be providing participants with a taste of the barre (isometric) workout. A short and sharp total-body workout utilising only your body weight to strengthen and build lean muscle, set to a kick-ass soundtrack. Burn Theory incorporates full body movements such as push-ups and planks, as well as thigh and glutes segments, arms, back and abdominals.
You will shake, burn, find muscles you didn’t know you had, and walk out tighter and taller than before, not to mention gain an addicted to the endorphins and energy!

Burn Theory is relatively new, what drove the purpose to start your business and what do you do at Burn Theory?
BurnTheory was born out of a love of fitness and an addiction to the energy and community vibe of boutique fitness classes. My main aim is to create a fun, motivational, engaging, passionate community of fitness lovers and deliver a holistic approach to boutique fitness, which covers a range of movement (tone, strengthen, lengthen, sweat). I noticed that we needed a dedicated barre space in Hobart CBD that also offered a smaller mix of additional classes that complimented each other, and set out creating the space. We now offer Barre classes as our main focus, with a spread of Sweat classes (our HIIT Bootcamp classes) and Soul classes (yoga-inspired RnB classes).
What makes Burn Theory unique to its clientele?
When I was going through my own fitness journey, I’d love those classes where there was a real sense of community and friendship – something that kept me accountable and where I really felt valued. So I wanted to ensure the space and business I created provided this. We have the most incredible instructor team who are all completely individual but love BurnTheory and its clients and provide rocking classes, and we have some truly amazing clients that have gained life-changing results!
What are your qualifications and history in the fitness industry?
My love of fitness and exercises started very young when I was a State Gymnastics representative. From here it grew into coaching gymnastics during my teenage years and moving on to teach combat and bootcamps during my University years. I am a qualified Personal Trainer with 5 years experience, a qualified Barre teacher and Mat Pilates teacher.
I have been working the women (and men) of Greater Hobart hard (but with lots of love and laughter) across Barre classes, Bootcamps, Personal Training Sessions, HIIT sessions and Pilates classes for over 5 years.
